A boutique studio with an established and impressive portfolio is looking to expand it's team with a middleweight interior designer to play integral part of the studio working across all phases of the design process on high-end residential projects.

This growing London studio is seeking a designer who has gained valuable experience in high-end residential projects, both locally and internationally. This role is ideal for a designer who is enthusiastic and confident in leading smaller-scale projects, while also collaborating with the wider team on larger-scale and commercial projects.

Integral to the studio, this role involves working from concept through every design phase, including project management, mentoring junior team members, and client interaction.

The studio cultivates a collaborative and supportive work environment, with a five-day studio-based setup and clear opportunities for career advancement. Designers in this studio have the chance to gain firsthand experience across all design phases and deliverables, contributing to an enviable portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and strategic thinking
  • Gather key project information and develop creative concepts for design
  • Produce detailed working drawings, designs, plans, elevations
  • Prepare high-quality design presentations and technical drawings
  • Manage project documentation and maintain an organised information filing system
  • Review manufacturer's shop drawings and integrate them into project specifications.
  • Source FF&E products and decorative items, coordinating budgets and providing client samples
  • Contribute to FF&E schedules, specifications, and procurement processes
  • Liaise with suppliers, ensuring technical specifications are met and managing procurement
  • Supervise design progress and oversee on-site activities
  • Collaborate with architects and other design professionals to optimise spatial use and achieve project goals
  • Manage project communications, serving as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
  • Delegate tasks effectively and mentor junior colleagues
  • Conduct project snagging and provide aftercare to clients
Skills and Experience
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture (BA)
  • Portfolio deomsratating relevant industry experience in high-end residential and commercial projects
  • Have honed your interior design skills at one of London's leading studios
  • Experience managing projects from concept to completion, including on-site experience
  • Proficient in delivering comprehensive ID drawing packages, including detailed drawings
  • Strong understanding of interior design phases and RIBA stages
  • Knowledgeable in UK Building Regulations for commercial and residential interiors
  • Capable of driving and delivering projects on time and within FF&E budgets
  • Excellent understanding of materiality, finishes, interior architecture, joinery, and FF&E
  • Proficient in bespoke joinery and FF&E manufacturing
  • Willingness to lead projects and delegate tasks to junior team members as required
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp, with the ability to mentor junior colleagues
  • Creative flair and a passion for creating beatifully tailored interior projects
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in presenting design solutions
