This is a sought-after opportunity to join an internationally recognised interior design studio, renowned for creating luxurious spaces across the residential and commercial sectors.

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership, attention to detail, and the vision to shape the studio’s long-term success while effectively managing projects and teams. Experience in high-end luxury interiors is essential.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Founder and senior management to drive business success. They will lead teams, manage projects, and engage with clients. As Design Director, they will ensure all projects meet deadlines, maintain quality standards, and align with the studio's principles. A commercial mindset is also key, with a focus on profitability and budget management.

This is a full-time studio based role that offers flexible working and bonus incentives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align team members with their roles, tasks, and tools effectively. Identify skill gaps and introduce training programs to improve overall design output.
  • Assist the Operations Manager by accurately planning resources, timelines, and managing project updates or changes.
  • Ensure adherence to studio processes and frameworks, maintaining the highest standards in project execution and compliance with guidelines.
  • Oversee project budgets and timelines, ensuring delivery within constraints. Collaborate with consultants for design coordination.
  • Manage client expectations, lead project meetings, and provide guidance on project costs and technical details.
  • Work with Founder to develop business strategies and secure new projects for growth and development.
  • Champion creativity and support the studio’s continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience
  • Posses the right to work in the UK.
  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Over 10 years experience delivering in high-end interiors from end to end with portfolio to demonstrate this.
  • All-round knowledge in both FF&E and construction methods.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of designers at every level.
  • Strong experience in client facing and working with HNI.
  • Comfortable with business development.
  • Strong commercial acumen with strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe CS.
  • Willingness and ability to work 5-days in studio.
